Although Berry Head near Brixham is a good place to go sea fishing all year round, this South Devon mark fishes best during the summer. If you want to try a good shore fishing mark in South Devon, you could do a lot worse than Berry Head.
Berry Head is best known as a good place to catch mackerel from the shore, although it’s not unusual to catch several other species here, too. Abnormally large Garfish are often caught from the slab, the nearest shore fishing mark to the car park, and Berry Head is also a good place to catch Bass.
Berry Head is one of the most popular sea fishing marks in South Devon and as such there are usually at least a few other anglers down there – but don’t be deterred by this – there are several places where you can fish from stretching right around the headland, so you should always be able to find a good fishing spot.
All in all, Berry Head, Brixham is an excellent South Devon shore fishing mark and a great place to go for a good day’s sea fishing.
