Information about shore fishing from Brixham Breakwater, South Devon.

The half mile long breakwater at Brixham is an excellent shore fishing mark in South Devon. Although mainly considered a summertime shore fishing venue, Brixham Breakwater can be, and is, fished throughout the whole year.

Float fishing for mackerel and Garfish can be productive from mid way to the end of the breakwater, from both the seaward side and the side facing the Brixham shore. Many anglers fish Brixham Breakwater to catch Mackerel, although it’s also a good mark to catch other species, particularly during night fishing sessions.

The Mullet fishing is good from the inside of Brixham Breakwater and the area around the old fuelling jetty is popular for Bass fishing and Conger fishing. The Congers are almost always caught during night fishing sessions, and the best time for the Bass is first and last light.

Brixham Breakwater is an extremely accessible South Devon fishing mark and popular with anglers of all ages and abilities.

Information on shore fishing from Berry Head, Brixham in South Devon.

Although Berry Head near Brixham is a good place to go sea fishing all year round, this South Devon mark fishes best during the summer. If you want to try a good shore fishing mark in South Devon, you could do a lot worse than Berry Head.

Berry Head is best known as a good place to catch mackerel from the shore, although it’s not unusual to catch several other species here, too. Abnormally large Garfish are often caught from the slab, the nearest shore fishing mark to the car park, and Berry Head is also a good place to catch Bass.

Berry Head is one of the most popular sea fishing marks in South Devon and as such there are usually at least a few other anglers down there – but don’t be deterred by this – there are several places where you can fish from stretching right around the headland, so you should always be able to find a good fishing spot.

All in all, Berry Head, Brixham is an excellent South Devon shore fishing mark and a great place to go for a good day’s sea fishing.
